About us
The Dubai Model United Nations (DMUN) aims to deliver a conference that reflects the cosmopolitan and diverse nature of Dubai, a city home to over 200 nationalities, making it more representative of the global community than even the UN in New York City. From our committees and topics to our teams and venue, every aspect of the conference has been thoughtfully curated to foster continuous personal and professional growth for delegates. More importantly, DMUN will provide delegates with real-time, continuous feedback throughout the conference, along with a personalized performance report following the event.

Will there be a position paper?
We believe the conventional MUN Position Paper is outdated and serves no actual purpose within the conference proceedings, in fact, the majority of delegates show up to conferences without a completed position paper. Therefore, at DMUN, we have developed a new document called the Country Stance Paper. Think of it like a speech that a delegate presents to the committee outlining their position in relation to the topics of the committee. Just write a speech explaining your country’s position, simple and straightforward.
Where can I find background guides for my committee?
Background guides will be posted in May and can be found in your respective committee page.
Do I need to be familiar with the rules of procedure before attending?
Yes, please come prepared. Who even thought of putting this question in the FAQ???? Obviously delegates need to come prepared!
Are there any resources to help me prepare?
DMUN will provide each registered delegate a preparation package comprising a core set of articles, videos and podcasts that they can refer to so that they can best prepare for their committees. Our teams will be helping each delegate throughout the period before and during the conference to ensure everyone is performing at their best possible levels and getting better with each committee session.
What do I do if I don’t understand something during a session?
Every single member within the committee from Chairs, Rapporteurs and Organizers are trained and instructed to assist all delegates with their conference related queries. We encourage all delegates to take advantage of this resource during the conference, we understand that delegates may feel like asking for help makes them look unprepared. Quite the contrary, we look towards delegates who regularly ask for assistance as having a genuine desire to want to get better and that is our priority during the conference.
Are there any social events planned during the conference?
Delegates are allocated ample time on a daily basis to socialize with their fellow delegates and to move freely across DWTC and One Central, this allows delegates greater freedom in how they use their time.
How can I become a sponsor of the conference?
