Chairs are responsible for leading and supporting discussion within the committee as well as maintaining decorum while in session and assisting delegates in adhering to the rules and procedures of the committee. Chairs are expected to be models for professionalism and leadership, especially when it comes to the organization and proceedings of the committee when in session. If a delegate happens to be struggling in committee, whether they need pointers in writing resolutions or in how they should approach speaking (general speakers list, moderated caucus, etc.), Chairs are expected to help in any way they can.
